Greetings from Lubbock,

These Texans are a tough bunch!

So I'm trailering my bikes to Colorado from Florida.

We were on Hwy 29 between Liberty Hill and Llano yesterday. A very nice road and one I would enjoy 2-wheeling on. BUT, IT WAS 106 FREAKING DEGREES!!!

We did see several bikes out there, but I'm not sure they were smiling...

Anyway, big respect for all those who can handle the heat!

BTW, excellent "Q" at local joint named Mac's in Brady, Tx. Brisket and sausage were very tasty. Keep in mind this is from a Florida Flatlander who has probably never had really good Q...

New Mexico tonight! Maybe cooler; probably smokier...

106? That's cool weather there. I just got back from my trip. I rode to Austin, spent a week there, and then roade back by way of Colorado. It was 115 the day i was riding to Colorado. I thought the tires would melt.

The 106 was on Hwy 29, later up by Sweetwater, we saw this:

2 pc rain gear (lined) was $29 last week when I bought it is now $19
ya, Shoein / LisaS that gear...

I bought the last armor set..MaineDR...couldn't pass it for $32
Crap! I shouldn't have bought it when I saw it... Shoulda waited. I bought one of thse cordura jackets too. Hmmm...I still have the receipt. let's see...I take it back...get a refund...then come back in later and buy it again at a reduced price.

It's what Paul LePage would do.

Yeah, insane. I saw 120 at one point, but it wasn't a sustained heat. The 115 was a day long blast. There was a very distinct difference riding in 105 and riding in 115. At 115, I just pounded water, and focused on covering miles. After I crossed the NM border from TX, I went through the Raton Pass, the temp dropped from 115 to 107. It is funny that 107 was a relief.

Greetings from Santa Fe!

Much cooler, although a little smokier... looking forward to 12 days of visiting family and getting in a lot of riding!
