I'm planning a little jaunt on the DR to westernmost Maine sometime in September. Heading from Houlton to Aziscohos Lake and Wilson's Mills in Lincoln Twp. The (somewhat) planned route will be through Greenville and Shirley, past Lake Moxie to The Forks, Stratton, Rangely.

I was wondering about a couple of roads. Can someone tell me if the Long Falls Dam road is rideable through to Eustis along the north side of Flagstaff Lake? Any recommended campsites on Flagstaff in Bigelow Twp? Dockingpilot and crew stayed at a jewel of a site on Flagstaff a couple of years ago when they rode through from Jersey.

How about the Lower Enchanted Road from West Forks to Grand Falls Road to Flagstaff Road in Flagstaff Twp.? The Maine Atlas shows a couple of gates between Lower Enchanted and Grand Falls Rd. near the Spencer Stream crossing (MAG 29 A-5)

I also wondered if the Tim Pond Road/Lincoln Pond Road is bike friendly all the way from Eustis through to Rt 16 in Lincoln Twp.

I plan to ride the 2nd or 3rd weekend in September if anyone wants to meet up along the way.

the bridge over Spencer Stream is a snowmobile bridge with gates a both ends, big no go there. Also at Lower Enchanted road when you turn off 201 there is a big no Bike sign....

I really hate that road being closed. Damned idiots.

Cross at Hardscrabble to Chain of Ponds (Goldbrook rd.), Marc.

There are some decent camp sites on Flagstaff at the south east side, off School street in Stratton. Not sure how those guys got in the south west side of it. Actually, not sure where they were exactly. Maybe somebody else does.

I may meet up with you for a day of riding. Keep me posted.

Good stuff guys! I'll take all the free advice I can get. I hope to keep this greater than 50% dirt, at least on the way out west.

Was digging around looking for some other pic and found this.

The night I got home from Cincinnati with the coolest bike I've ever ridden. What a roller coaster ride its been.

Nice!

They are good for a roller coaster ride. You get that clutch slave squared away?

BTW, I'm working on your question.

Yeah, works good, like new.

Oh, got that sorted out, I think just fine.

Can you go?

Still can't find the pic I was looking for.

Ah well, little slow around here tonight.

This is a good one. I'd been riding for a few days and had no idea I wasn't going to see anything. This is Nevada, heading toward the Sierras. California was burning that year. Nothing but smoke for 3 days.

It created some wild looking skies.

Found it... seems like I have a couple dozen of these. I don't know how EC keeps his pics manageable.

Favorite view of Flagstaff...

Up Long Falls Dam Road and then head across N. Flagstaff/Scott road.

The little road that goes out to this overlook is getting pretty well grown over. Used to get this view from the road.
