close to 8cd/yr but I heat two buildings off 1 wood boiler...I was impressed watching the pulp truck driver making a very neat and straight pile for me off the truck, makes for a safer pile to work on when its not a tangled mess...
I just started burning the wood I put in the basement this fall last Sunday. I now have it workin out that I burn wood that has been inside since last yr and so the wood that came in this fall gets several months of drying in a heated basement.

Had a nice visit with ADV riders at UNO's tonight Shoein, LisaS, dTrembly and Xrayder.....
(guess you just have to show up to see who Xrayder is)

Well, I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope it's -20 in Saco for the next three weeks.

I was in Seattle last week, and I think I could handle that (rainfall amounts very dependent on area, and no snow). Was surprised by all the cool bikes I saw - mostly GSs. Maybe because it was in the 30s-40s all the cruisers were away...GSs of all flavors, a new Tiger, 990Adv, even a TW200, ripping up the city. And houses with water views cheaper than southern, ME...sign me up.

My wife and I were just talking about flying out for a few days. Out of all cities I've been to in the US, Seattle is my favorite. I like it enough to think I could live there. A light dual sport for in town would be perfect.

I have good luck with the weather when I go there.

and there's this in the back yard.

I lived in Seattle for six years. The moderate temperature is a great, and "rain" there is almost always a drizzle. Most cities get more total rain than Seattle. The downside is that there are only two seasons: summer and overcast. It gets awfully dreary there.

As for the snow, well, we'll see. There isn't much snow, but there seems to be an increase of snow and it completely shuts down the city when it is measurable. It isn't just that they're not used to it, because of the infrequency of it, the city doesn't have adequate equipment for when it does happen, and the city is built on some really steep hills that are impossible to do anything other than convert to temporary sledding parks. There is a storm front coming in there right now and all of my co-workers there have declared a state of emergency.

Still, I consider Seattle the ADV HQ of the US. Touratech USA, Altrider and Globe Riders are all based there. It was really great to be able pick up parts from TT and Altrider on my way home from work. There's seemingly endless National Parks and National Forest to explore right in your back yard, as well as a fair number of state santioned "Off-Road Areas" for dirt bikes and other such muddy vehicles.

It's frozen enough. Sitting around thinking about bikes and not out riding them.

Was just looking at the empty parking spot and thinking I need another ZRX man.
