Riding on Sunday

I'm going for a ride on Sunday and I'm thinking of heading to Greenville. (I'm emberassed to say) I've never been up that way and I'm sure you all will agree it's worth a look. Any suggestions on roads in the area, what about places to eat?

as you leave the town of Abbot heading north take the left turn towards Piper Pond. Stay on that road ,it will turn to dirt, take thru the village of Blanchard and put you back on Rt 15 in Shirley just a few miles before you get to Greenville.

Flatlanders in Greenville has a great broasted chicken dinner, if you are not that hungry the Reuben don't suck.

In Abbot stop in at the Bakery for some snacks.

The Piper pond rd over to Blanchard is a good run with a few miles of dirt into Shirley.

On the way up if you make it into Monson the Elliotsville loop back out to 150 is a nice ride, heading across 16 at Kingsbury pond you can cross by the dam and head out across to 150 or take your 1st rt. and follow the ATV trail out to some great views and back out to tar.
Leaving Gville you can follow the Brochu ( wally world) rd out to Harris dam rd and South past Moxie pond, some nice exploring, if you have good tires and feel comfortable the Shirley/West rd is fun across to Moxie. you can take the old RR bed South from Gville and pick up the West rd ( when it turns to dirt it is the Shirley rd or the CC rd) and head across to Moxie. If you need a place to throw a tent pm me.

Well we went to the White Mtns area of NH and we had a VERY nice ride.
Hit MANY roads I didn't even know existed.
Not many pics were taken though.
My Wife really enjoyed the trip but was a tad cold in her vented jacket about the time we rolled into Gorham NH so we hit Labonville and got her a warm sweatshirt to throw on under her vented jacket. MUCH better!!!
A happy Wife's a happy life.

Loaded and ready for the trek.

Gettin' some petrol in Bethel.

Here we are stopped in Gorham for the sweatshirt purchase.

Somewhere in NH

View from our room

A rest stop on the Kanc.

Answer me this...
WHY does her hair look SO good after several hours of riding and mines a freakin' mess even after just leaving the barber shop?

When to the top of Cathedral Ledge in North Conway, ran into these two guys. He's giving a lesson on mtn climbing... YIKES!!!

Hey, are you SURE that knot is gonna hold?

Some 500 miles on Thursday and Friday and we had a SUPER ride in NH.
Once we got back home is when I discovered my Wife's little 650 needs a set of fork seals. Oil all over the front of her bike.
She said she got some air on Hurricane MTN Rd and at the time I didn't believe her, well, I do now. She MUSTA been watching/leaning from me. THAT'S MY GIRL!!!

My Wife and best friend for some 21 yrs and yes, I AM the luckiest guy on the planet.

OH, Bear Notch Rd is certainly not to be missed. Thanks for the tip EC. Sorry we didn't get over to visit with ya.

That place actually is the finish of one of the easier routes on Cathedral, most inexperienced people could climb it, but it looks like you just finished up the north face of the Eiger or something, and you get to show off for the sightseers.

Can't see the concern on my face, but its there. That siren sounded like something out of a world war 2 flick. Spooky!

Slabfest... 2012.
