Nope, 2 weeks without TV, Radio, GPS, I will admit in Anchorage we had to pull the phone GPS out a couple of times, Alaskan Milepost is all you need once you figure out how to use it.

No bear spray or weapons brought, although it did enter our minds hiking in Denali.- dude got mauled a couple of days after we were there, 1st guy on record to get killed in the park, hard to believe.

When we were in Faibanks and the run South all we saw was bikes heading North, Mostly KLR's and R1200GS with a few 950's thrown in.

In Chitna hot springs it was 95% Japanese clients, kind off strange being so far North, I talked to one of the workers and she told me something about the Northern Lights and hot springs creating gifted/blessed children... with the help of the parents I suppose.

Strange swimming/wading in 103* water, also not getting dark till midnight took some getting used to.

You can see the steam from the morning stream.

Next day, back on the rd.

Thanks, I could not believe the snow left over from last winter, a few of the locals told me it was because of the record snowfall last year.

I walked on one of the snow-packs and it was all mushy almost all slush but deep.

Beautiful Pics 2T!!! You should just put them all on Smuggy and post us a link, it'd be cool to see them all.

Alaska is on the short list for me. How'd you like doing it in an RV?

Pot calling the kettle black? ;0)

We expect to see pics from Idaho City single track. I'm sitting at my desk, green with envy that you might be hitting the trails out there soon...

Monday morning I left Rapid City heading south. I crossed the southern section of the Black Hills eventually turning east, headed across the plains of Wyoming.

It was pitch black out and looking to the east I saw a big storm. I stopped the bike on a hill and after shutting it down immediately noticed the silence surrounding me. There is nothing around for many many miles.

Lightening strikes were not very often and catching one on my crappy camera wasn't likely. Seeing a storm like this, in the open with no place to run, always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. These storms define awesome.

I needed to get going again and the sun eventually began to wash the plains in the higher locations. It was 38 degrees out, going to be 90 later in the day. I looked back and found the sun rising over the storm clouds I was watching earlier. I truly wish I had a camera that would show you all what it was like. The rays reaching skyward were incredible. I was disappointed to find these pics but I'm going to share anyway.

Perhaps I'll buy a new camera for the trip home.

It's the size of it all in person. Hard to describe with a camera and my lack of skills.

I have ridden past the Tetons half a dozen times over the years and each time is the same. 10 minute cold chill! Absolutely stunning. If you are ever heading west, ride Rt. 26 from the south east. It is the best way to have them presented to you. No doubt about it.

I stopped for this guy. It's not your normal every day speed goat. This one is a trophy. Got him just as he as getting up to haul ass.

And because I will forever be juvenile, at times...

I didn't ride out as I thought they would be happy to see me. I didn't want that.
