Not sure I'd have a ride for this one. More to follow.

Personally, I like the looks of the 990 over the 1190. The 1190 just looks...well, like everything else.

FWIW, thought I read somewhere that the Baja is also lower than most versions. Haven't confirmed this.

Of course, there are those that will argue it isn't an 'R' so it isn't worthy. For us mere mortals I'm not sure it matters all that much. Still more bike than I'll ever be a rider. Plus, the white looks better than the 'R'.

The 1190 looks like it would possibly be a good 2-up bike I've read different but like the new GSs, all the electronic features scare the crap out of me for the long haul. Having said that, I could see an 1190 over any of the other new choices out there - with the exception of a white Tenere.

No getting around Yamaha reliability.

If the fly by wire throttle is anything like the GSW it will be slick.

The subliminal Touratech commercial brought me back to your earlier question about crap you need to buy for it to ride it.

990 = $89 sidestand relocator kit for everything I saw in that video.

1190 looks like you're going to throw a wad of cash at it. Maybe it's just perception.

More perception - if you had to leave NE and head to where that was shot the 1190 looks like it'd be a better road bike to get there. Who knows? They did claim the fuel mileage was better, though.

It does look like a great place to ride.

I really need to work on staying out of the ER.

I have a foreign object in my left wrist - (white dot to the left) Doc enlarged the entrance wound and fished around for 1/2 an hour, came up empty.

On the plus side, you can see the bone growth bump on my radius from when I broke it 24 years ago.
