Hey, Rocky Mountain Gals...AMA Women's Event in Keystone Aug 2009

Motornoggin & WyoBecky made me aware of the following event, so I thought I would post it up and see if there's any interest.

The AMA International Women & Motorcycling Conference is held once every three years, and this year it's in Keystone, CO. Looks like it could be fun. Don't know any details yet, but it's still early. Don't know how fast this fills up, but if you're interested, let's coordinate and maybe share room costs, ride down together...y'know that kind of thing.

It was fun meeting you and Kiwigirl on Sunday, PrairieRider. I am now a member of ADVrider. Thanks for the info. I went to the AMA International Women and Motorcycling Conference in Athens, Georgia in '06 and it was a great event. It's pretty early for me to make plans, but I'd really like to go again in '09. You'll meet so many women riders of all kinds. I'll keep in touch.

Hey, Annette!! Glad to see you made it on!! Was really nice chatting with you and your husband at the Pot Belly last Sunday. There might be a group of us doing a short dirt ride in the Snowies on Saturday morning (probably on the early side). I'll post up if we get it together.

Nice to know you thought the Georgia event was worthwhile. Seems like a neat opportunity since it's being held in our backyard. Were all types of riding addressed? Dual sport, dirt, street, etc?

Although, it sounds like fun...but I don't care for much women big gathering. Yes, I know...I am strange.

This will work out perfect with other plans I have.

2009 is going to be a very, very good year.

Hmmmm.... I wonder if we could plan a package deal. Combo AMA and Chickfest?

Good question...last year Chickfest was held south of Poncha Springs which is just west of Salida in mid-July. Lots of great riding there. It was a low cost casual event and almsost everyone camped...there were a couple of camper trailers. Bonnie & Hayduke were close by too and brought the ADV Grill, but I'll run it by Johnny_5 and see what she thinks. It would be farther for her to travel...she comes from Phoenix. Might be a neat change of venue and it certainly wouldn't be as hot. It would also give gals from farther away a chance to participate who might not otherwise.

I am hoping to go now that I live within reach. It is hard to plan that far in advance, but it's penciled in!
