Scotland '08 My holiday's report.

This report about my trip on Scottish roads during my holidays in August with my wife Tania.
We start from home (near Venice...) in the early morning of 9 August

We drive two days through Dolomiti Alps, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France....

In Dunkerque we spent a night for take the ferry to Dover in the next day morning.

Here I'm....

And these are the white reefs of Dover....

Some moments before my first experience about "left side" driving!!

11 August From Dover to Carlisle nothing to say, boring highway in England without rain!
But in the evening we take a room in a hotel with a nice pub!

Finally 12 August we was in Scotland!!! The morning was windy & rainy....

...but our eyes was satisfied

At the end of the day, we found to sleep in a very nice B&B in Arrochar near Loch Lomond National park.

To be continued.......

on my "list"

Scotland is towards the top of my "one day" overseas motorcycle destinations. Thanks for sharing some great pics from your ride.

Nice pictures, looks like you had a good trip. I really enjoyed my Scottish trip back in July, it's a great place to ride.

Thumb Beautiful.

Thanks for sharing your trip.

Good to see the Aprillia out on the road. Over here it's called a "Caponard" I think, what is it called in Italy?

Ciao,

Matteo

This is the day dedicated to Isle of Skye....
We left to Fort August in a windy and raining morning after ten minutes of a lot of water, I said: Tania I turn the bike to hostel!!!
But at noon the weather become better.....

Welcome to Skye!!!

At Carbost, we visited the Talisker distillery

Where we tasted a little bit of Whiskey

Beautiful pictures. Scotland is very photogenic. When it's not raining. How are you finding driving on the left? I notice that on one photo the locals have thoughtfully painted reminder direction arrows on the road.

How are you finding the Caponord as a 2-up tourer? It looks very comfy to me, and I have a Futura. On the channel tunnel train in August I met an Italian chap on a BMW GS800. He had been to Skye and it had rained every day. He was rather miserable, but then he did have a couple of cracked ribs from an accident.
