Righto

Looking for some guidance from someone that has replaced their front brake line.
I need to order a new braided front brake line. I'm using the "all yamaha" front end and want to route the cable in the traditional dirt bike manner that others have done. I do not have abs.

What Length cable do I need? 38inch??

I trawled the thread and managed to find the length of 38 inches so I'm going to run with that.

I did replace my brake line but I kept the BMW wheel and I got ABS. I went with Spiegler 37 inches and it's perfect length. Now if you don't have abs , you should need a longer line. I don't think 38 would be long enough. Double check and order once

Brake line length is one item which seems vague and is variable dependant on how the line is run, ABS, bars, risers etc

There are some notes from the thread here

Do you have everything mounted up yet? If so, take a piece of string and run it where the line would be routed on your bike from caliper to lever and measure that.

I don't have mine routed underneath and up the front since I am running a low KTM fender, so my length would not help you.

Mine was 54" without the ends. No ABS and 2" Rox Risers.

Ok so I've ordered some kouba links, the funduro 2inch lowering links that make the dakar higher. Now I''ve just read that others have tried the links and said they were too severe and may even cause undue mechanical stress on the suspension parts.

Does anyone have any solid info on this?

Benjah- I have an used braided steel with transparent blue cover brake line that I bought many moons ago from mattomotto. I will look at the length - but I am willing to part with it cheap. Let me know if you are interested. Pm and I'll send you pic and exact length.
