Quick answer is that several brands make a good cheap (relatively) Dual Sport for about $130. I have an AFX and love it but they just came out with a new one that also has interior sun shad, as well as normal flip shield. AND curved sides to make truning your head easier with pads or chest protector. A really good helmet IMHO for the price.

Next step up is in the 200+ range.

These helmets are great because you can flip the shield up and get cool or pick your nose. Down side - they are not great in the dust. If you are riding at the back of the pack and it super dusty you might wear goggles which you can with these helmets.

Good luck and please - always wear the damn thing!!!
