I scared (and perhaps scarred) a poor young lady in a shoe store...

tried them on while in full moto gear...

They were originally black, but Krylon ballet slipper pink worked wonders.

Going crazy trying to fix Mata's Grand Prix. Makes a clicking noise when turning right.
Classic noise like a bad CV joint so I replaced both sides with brand new Cardone axles, no Joy. Checked hub bearings and both had play so I installed new Moog hubs still has same fricking noise. $500 in parts and 2 days blown for nothing.
Probably something stupid like a brake pad loose and rattling.

Kim's Civic has a similar sound, so far I choose to ignore it. When it gets worse, perhaps it will be easier to nail down.

Jeff, have you checked that the steering rack is not loose? Some of those GM racks were mounted in a bad way, using a clamp on the passenger side and two bolts on the drivers side. This usually causes play in the steering as well.

And what kind of mechanic are you? Replacing parts that are not known to be bad...that sounds like a dealership method.

I have fixed two different Pontiacs owned by my parents that had this same intermittent clicking / scraping / squeaking / rattling problem. It was the brakes both times.

+1 on Jerry's idea. Steering rack and transaxle mounts. Happened to one of my neighbors.

Also a way long shot, but go over the wheel(s) with a fine tooth comb. Back in my youth I had a 67 Galaxy and had to replace a rim with a junkyard Police Intercpter rim. Which I later brushed against a curb causing a single sharp cracking sound like a .22 rifle. And a crack about 3/4" long in the center section which would make a slight click, expecially turning. Edit: Oh and try it withuot wheel covers if the car has them - I've had hubcaps make noise turning - same big ass Ford.

Only other moving parts I can think of that could be involved would be struts, and sway bar if it has one. Sway bar is way out there - only noises I ever get from them is when the end link bushings fail they clunk going over sharp bumps like driveway gutters or speedbumps.

A re-tired one
Defiantly a rotational clicking noise thinking about swapping sides on rotors

Will there be any riding going on? Wondering which bike to bring. Still haven't rebuilt the petcock on the KLR yet and the Suzuki's hard luggage holds more beer.

Scott is wanting to ride in the area, without a bunch of sand. I am sure he wants to ride some dirt though.

Nobody seems to be into riding sand, so the DRZ is probably overkill. I am sure we can find some GS, DL, and Bandit friendly dirt. It will just be scattered around, still fun. I bet we could make it down the trail of death at a slow pace, its not that far to the river...

Lets ride on Sat.

I came home thru Croom east of the river last Sunday and the Syncs did good in the sand, speed was limited by suspension travel.

Sounds good Jerry. Every time I think of the ONF, I have this image of the power lines, foot deep sand and tourances or endless fresh cut fire trails with foot deep fluff.

I have to say that there is plenty of shin deep sand out there, does it firm up around lakes or rivers roads?
