Gas will be your budget shrinker... Lodging can be had for free if you don't mind stealth camping Mom and pop type campgrounds are often inexpensive when you're of the beaten path...
Food is a non issue, since you eat at home too. It makes me laugh when peeps put food cost in their trips as if they don't eat at home.

There are always a few street rides out there. Hell, if I get ambitious, I might even lead one.

I understand that gas is the major expense. Some days we will not ride anywhere, others we might burn a whole 5 gallons. Maybe 2.5-3 gallons a day on average. I get 50+mpg usually, even loaded for camping and 2 up. So $15 a day for gas, and that is a high estimate IMO. We will see how it actually pans out.

Haven't seen it mentioned in your prior posts, but be sure to take advantage of the "Tent Space" list in the "Trip Planning" section here on adv. Also hit the regional forums for hints and advice - as well as occasional riding partners. I've met some great folks and had wonderful rides that way.

We're all wishing you the best. Have a ball.

And I've done a good deal of traveling in the west, so fee free to ask for travel hints anytime. Email is best as I miss looking for PMs frequently.

Fuel costs per day might be higher some of the time - when you just want to get someplace, or to get away from bad weather.

To answer Eeickey's PM as to

"Where Ya Hiding"?

Here with my Dad

He was released from rehab this past Friday

Told Eric there's no way I can ride up to Rick's RDV

Maybe when my sister comes down from N. AL

Till then I'm just working around here

Not too much yet though

Yard does look pretty good

Drinking beer and watering St. Aug is pretty easy

Fixin' to go cook liver and onions

We've been eatin' dinner 'bout 7:00

So it's time

After bein' in rehab for two months, Dad's got some cravings I'm

Still working on

Gotta have shrimp this week too

Started out with Ribeye steaks

Pork ribs

Last night was salmon with garlic sauteed spinach and alfredo pasta

Biscuits and country ham this morning to go with some fresh laid eggs

Lord does my cousin Andy ever have the quail eggs, roughly 15 a day now

Eatin' some of them pickled here soon

Talk to y'all later

Hhmmm... Liver & onions. Courtney and I both go for that dish. Wait staff in restaurants used to do a double take when she was younger and ordered it. Apparently a lot of other kids don't know what's good.

I need to put that on the menu/shoppig list asap.

I had liver and onions Sunday on the the trip home from the wanker ride .
I can't make it any more since Mata developed an allergy to onions.

Best liver I ever had were the ones from freshly killed mule deer

Liver and was always what we ate that first day

The mule deer were always so tough that we'd age them for a whole month before processing

Although a yealing here and there for camp meat was not out of the question

Originally wrote Liver and Heart but now that I think about it, we didn't cook the heart from those deer; they would have probably been tough too

We rode into Dover, TN yesterday. Going to have a look around here, and stay at least for another night.

There is a link in my sig line to our thread. The damn spot tracker died two days into the trip, so I pulled that link.

We are camping at land between the lakes for the next two nights. This is an awesome place!
