So what's up for the holiday week?

HoJo has off through Sunday starting tonight

She and Hailey are coming to stay with us here in Floral City

Hailey wants to get in as much Weeki Wachee kayaking as possible

She and HoJo were getting tired as we neared the end of our paddle this past Sunday

And that was all down stream although the last half was during high tide so the river wasn't really what you call rolling out

Gonna see just how well Hailey can paddle up stream tomorrow

Low tide would be a beyotch so gotta plan our launch time a bit

Are you guys getting any breeze over there for paddling? It's been hot like 1998 over here. And the sea breeze hasn't been kicking in over the westerly (hot inland air) breeze until late late afternoon.

Not too breezy today

Much of the Weeki Wachee is shaded

You actually have to stop in spots for sun but I always seem to get plenty of sun anyhow

And the water is a constant 72 degrees seeing that it's spring fed

So it's quite refreshing to say the least

That means really fricking cold to me. We kayaked up the Rainbow until it got hot yesterday. Which was about noon. I was hot, but not ready to get in that water.

"Broken peg"

If you can't cry then you have to laugh, right?

Just glad to hear it wasn't a broken ankle

Looking forward to some pics

Lord knows I need to post some up

I did actually take a couple of Hailey and HoJo on the river last week

Funny thing happened this morning

Was riding my gazelle

It squeaks and squeals a bit

Anyway,

Two peacocks and one peahen came into the yard

Walked up the driveway towards the garage

And looked up

Right at the window which I was riding behind

Had never seen them in this area before today

They didn't stay too long after I quit riding

Last time I saw them they appeared to be eating juniper berries at the front porch

By the time I went down and into the house they'd split
