I was able to get out a few times the last couple of weeks. I was only able to last about 30min before my fingers and face would go numb from the cold.

Killdozer, are those new tires you put on your bike? They look fresh.

Moto138, I heard about the upcoming snow, this winter has been relentless.

Yeah, this thread was started late in the season last year. Hopefully it turns into something this spring. There is some great riding up here; and it's cool to check out other peoples local stomping grounds.

Hey guys, Peter in Nyack here. Does that count as Hudson Valley or am I too far south for you?

Just got a '99 KLR650 and looking for places to get a little dirty.

Yeah, I bought a set of studded tires. They work pretty good.

Yeah, that still counts. I like riding through Grand View and Tweed Mountain Road in Nyack. I don't know of many places to ride off- road "legally" down there though.

Yeah Tweed is a pretty cool twisty road. There are some nice tight bumpy stretches through Harriman State Park too, Arden Valley Road, and Tiorati Brook.

Hard to believe there aren't even any dirt roads around here, but that seems to be the case.

Anyone have experience with the laws for riding service roads? I always see a well used path around the gates and a train of kids with atv's blasting in and out of em.

Keep me in the loop, I have been out a little bit since February but am looking for some riding time. Was actually hoping today was nicer then what was predicted but that didn't happen.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that registered/insured vehicle's are allowed on service roads. I have never had a problem on them.. then again, I have never seen a cop on one either.
