There are some occasions when pedal powered bikes just don't cut the mustard! Would love to have been on the trip with you matey!

Shaggie,

Beautiful! The bit from Christchurch to Kaikoura was my first experience of New Zealand from the saddle of a rented 1200 GS.

Other than nearly impaling Amy and myself on a bus when I pulled out of a parking lot on the wrong side of the road, we enjoyed every minute of it!

Looking forward to meeting you when we make it down there again!

BTW, if you ever need a host for a tour of the Texas Hill Country, just say the word!

Thumb Cool ride.

Hi Shaggie

Nice report and pics on what looks to have been a great day! That wasn't Sunday (2 Nov 08) was it? If so, we were up SH1 from ChCh the day before and while it was dry and sunny(ish), a bit further up the road it got pretty interesting You certainly picked the right day to go for a "shakedown" cruise.

Catch you on the road sometime

Cheers
Allan

Bluhduh 1000 km ride ..

Hi Shaggie,
yeah, we did that loop it was not a heap of fun! Had it been the Sunday that you rode the Inland Route, I suspect it would have been a delightful ride.
As they say, "Sh*t happens!" May have a story to tell soon, for a ride report.

Yup, catch you at Little River.

Cheers,
Allan

Have no children. I envy you this.
Bit more practice then a father & son camping trip maybe?

I certainly would like jackson to have more time on the bike with me.

Proper gear for him is the next step!
