Son and soldier KIA

It is with heavy heart that I must report the loss one of our friend's son.
Jan Callahan lost her son on Sunday . He and his comrade were killed by a roadside IAD.

Marine Sgt. Sean T. Callahan
Died April 23, 2011 serving during Operation Enduring Freedom

23, of Warrenton, Va.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died April 23 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations. Also killed was Lance Cpl. Dominic J. Ciaramitaro.

Some know Jan Callahan at Morton's BMW in Fredericksburg Va. She is a mechanic and service writer. My heart goes out to Jan and her family. Keep her in your prayers.

That is very sad. Unfortunately the ongoing loses do not get the attention they deserve. The Callahan family will be in my prayers.

I saw that DoD announcement (get them all) and noticed the Warrenton home. It still hurts every time. My condolences . . . . .

Wish I had the money/time to snatch that up. Looks like it's a pretty nice spot.

Very sad, my thoughts go out to him and his family.

I'm heading over there in July, hopefully things start to calm down over there soon.

Alright, who bought up all the Michelin T-63's? Motorcycle Superstore is backorderd and has no idea when they may be in. I just sent a request to an inmate in the vendors section for a set of MEFO explorers. I should get 7-8,000+ out of them, I hope. I know they are not cheap. Let's see what they run...Maybe I should get another set of Metzeler Enduros.

BTW, Kevin, I got just under 3,000 on the rear T-63 and the front looks like maybe another 1,000+. Not bad at all for the price.

The husband of one of my employees is in Afghanistan, training AF Air Force pilots . . . . . as of COB today, she hadn't heard from him. (Nine US trainers dead at Kabul Airport Ops center). Very scary. They haven't been married but about 2 years, small baby. She's a defense economist, supporting the intel community. Brilliant analyst.

We're praying he's ok . . . . but . . . .

OREXPAT: I brought your old Wee down to the Outer Banks for a mens retreat. First road trip on the bike, and it did great. We ran through a few rain showers and a lot of wind yesterday, but made it mostly without incident. Funny thing, I was following 9one9 down 64 and noticed him messing with the visor on his helmet when suddenly it flew off his helmet and over my shoulder. He said it came unfastened on one side and he tried to make it stay until we stopped, but when he turned to look over his shoulder the wind ripped it off. He commented later that the rain stings the face at 60+ mph.

So we're here till saturday and will miss LF. You guys have fun. I saw that some fellas will be bringing the new Kenda Big Block tires. I am anxious to hear how they work out.

Glad it's still working for you. I miss it. . . . . Those things are a real corker on the road--better rider's than me can lean them 'till their ears scrape the pavement . . .

Did the "clunk" ever get resolved?
