It's called a Hossfly.

It makes a hell of a lot of noise for something with a top speed of 25mph.

Montebello DS ride

Went down to Montebello for the DS ride, and had a great time. On the way I stopped by the tag spot on coal road and got bruce'd , oh well, since it was on my way....I then continued down, and went past a recent tag spot on Campbell's Mountain rd.

From there I continued down to Montebllo, met up with Yeti27, KevinW, and Steverino and off we went for a little ride. Here's a group shot.

Well, after hearing so much about Union Springs road, I gave it a run today. I must say, one of the best roads out in the SR 33 area...

Awesome weather this morning..

I had the GPS turned on the whole time, but this GPS thing is rather new to me. I'll try and download them onto the computer later on so as to share; I've got a Garmin 60CSX if anyone can give me some pointers.

As far as pics go, that's about all I got. We didn't stop much.....just rode!

Spent a couple hours doing my "ADV Homework" as FOX calls it. Enjoy the Ride Report!

Anyone interested in Biker Waves, watch this video from Mordeth13. He has a ton on Youtube - check out his favorites if you get a chance. Always makes me chuckle.

Especially when you watch it in HD on a lage screen. Better than most TV stations.

Awesome ride today, on some of the most technical trails I've ever done--rivaling and surpassing even some to which I'd subjected the Ninja.
Had a great time, and didn't even crash.

I did unfortunately shatter Happy Fun Guy's camera. I wrapped it up in a sweater to protect it and put it in my top box...it didn't help. :( Too many bumps.

Also, my rear brake suddenly stopped working after a while. Later, with a lot of pumping, it started working again, then quit again. No idea why.

Had a similar experience a while back on Camp Run Road. I was riding the rear brake, and it overheated. It acted like I had no rear brake left, pedal went down with minimal pressure until it bottomed out. I hit pavement, and the next time I applied the rear brake, it was up and functioning again. Then later the same trip, I was coming down Helmick Rock Rd, NW of Lost River State Park. Muddy, slick as snot. Same deal happened again. Lost the rear brake. Got back to asphalt, and in a few miles, I had rear brake again. When I got home, I flushed the rear brake system twice, did a good job of bleeding the system. No trouble since, and the system has seen worse abuse since the failure reference I used. I suspect I somehow gained moisture in my brake system, and once it got hot, the water present was all it took to engage the natural tendency to "engage seat cover ripping pucker power". Maybe it was cheap or contaminated brake fluid. Dunno. The simple brake flush and bleed seemed to clear up the problem.

Thanks. Makes sense--it's a new to me bike from 1991, so that makes sense.
