That is such a teaser shot Kevin! Come, we need some real pictures!

Congrats on the new panniers my friend. Be careful though, don't get too used to them! It'll be hard to trim down your packing list next time you make a trip with the DR!

Just look at me, I went from the DRZ with soft bags, to the KLR with fat-bottomed girl panniers, to the KTM that gets trucked around!

I'll post some when they come back from getting powder coated, probably be a couple weeks. I tell ya,this guy (kirkster70) has been great to work with. I wanted a set of Happy Trails but no way was I ever going to shell out over 800 bucks for aluminum boxes.

Is it strange that as soon as I read this that song started playing on the radio?

Kevin,

sorry if I missed it, but did he build the rack for you as well? Was the rack job a custom build or was he working off of a template?

Looking good....I think you will like them a lot! Are you getting the insides coated? If not and if they are aluminum it will leave residue on your clothing and bags.

There is also a shop in Waynesboro off 340 near the cycle shop that powdercoated my RS telelever.

The rack is custom made, I believe it's the first one he's made for a Strom. He sent them to a guy he uses for powder coating they will be coated on the inside as well.

Denis, he tried a different bend on these he wasn't happy with but they looked good to me so he gave me a good deal. He has this set on Ebay now.

He told me about that so we're powdercoating the inside too.

One of my first thoughts was that now I can haul beer on ice.
I have an insulated cooler bag that looks like it will fit perfect.
