Gone but not forgotten...

I've been so busy I only rode it 1,300 miles since September. Wanted some extra cash so I listed it on CL late Sunday night. It took off out of here yesterday about 4PM. I threw in the 4 gallon IMS tank I had on the other XR(got the Acerbis 5.8 to replace it), the chase harper saddle bags/racks(they had seen better days and didn't need them anymore) and a tusk tank bag(fits the 4 gallon tank great)...plus the take off parts.

Now I need to get the other XR sorted out.

Happy birthday Dean !! hi George ! I would be out playing around in this stuff , but my leg is still non-weight bearing. I go back to the doc monday . I am hopeing to get a walking cast. I'm pretty much stuck inside now, afraid to do anything that will slow down the healing process . Other than my tailbone ,this leg has taken longer to heal than anything else i've broken. I got a set of Combat touring boots made by Sidi, i ordered them from Rider wearhouse. They seem to be extremely well made. I wanted something heavy enough for dual sport that would fit under a pair of jeans when i go on a street ride.

You're not even close. Can't be picky though. I run the risk of some one else picking this up before you get there. So it would be my $250 I lose. Wrapped with the artifact is a number and a code. You call it and they wire money. Easy.

Who's game.

Jack Bauer is your man.

This sounds intriguing though, I'm hoping after you claim it you give us some details on this treasure hunt of yours.

I drove in to DC from Harpers Ferry - and then turned around and tried to get home.

MD State POX had closed Rt 340 so I had to spend the night on the floor at the Holiday Inn. Made it home the next morning with the help of an 18 wheeler hauling milk that busted through the snow pile blocking the exit from Rt 15 to Rt 340. He'd warned me about watching the road change when I crossed into Washington County. At the county line there was a 24" drop where their snow blowers picked up from Frederick County's plows. Have a photo somewhere of the Muffynmonster standing in 38" of snow and all you could see was the top of her hat.

We have 16" of snow on the ground so far and it's still coming down.

Charlotte was the closet airport that was open, only 2" of snow there and melting fast. talk about all screwed up. when i flew back east, i had to retrieve the car i left down in north carolina.

of course, the Fairfax meeting was cancelled.

A good bit of snow up here on the mountain, there's upwards of 20 inches up on the peak! All tracked-out now!

it was the heaviest 24hr snow i'd ever seen east of the Rockies.

i got stuck in a big snow plow windrow near Roanoke. three high school boys joyriding in an old Ford 4x4 stopped and got me out after some shoveling, pushin' and pullin'. they didn't want any money until i told them i was on the company dime and gave them a fair chunk. they were all smiles, struck it rich.

i'd been working on it myself when they showed up...they were the only ones who stopped.

I'm a hell of a lot closer then you are.

But you know, you've probably given enough clues to the very smart FFs posting and lurking here that one of them has probably discovered your secret and is already planning a grab.
