Imagine being forced to drink Guiness
That could cause a beer budget increase.

Well I did get to drink several kinds of beer at work but it's a class I don't get paid for. So that sucks.

I did like the porters and a milk stout that I tried but I just can't make myself drink those nasty bitter I.P.A.s.

And after drinking all that fancy beer I'll probably still just drink my Coors Light.

Kev, Is your setup similar to the Golden, CO plant?

I remember after the guided brew tour we went to the "tasting room". Most of the patrons were employees that had the day off. Pretty sweet....

We don't have the public tours like Golden but we do have a pub that's open to employees on Thursdays.

And WTF it's snowing. Good day to work on this project.

Different strokes, man; it's cool and leaves more of the other to those of us to whom it makes a difference. I was at the Golden, Co. plant, but that was over 40 years ago; I don't remember much but big shiny vats and a fast-moving rocky stream along the road. I was under 18 so I only got to drink it at home. Coors was just starting to make a name for itself, almost elite status for those in the know back then; I remember it had more "body" than Budweiser and Pabst Blue Ribbon, although in that era I grew to prefer the original Michelob in bottles and Heineken. Nobody made any beer called "light" back then. There was a variant of beer called "3.2" beer, which was a liquid with a hint of beer taste, the alcohol content of which was limited to 3.2% in order to meet the legal requirements of supplying the 18 to 21 year old demographic. I suppose that's where the idea of light beer came from. Pretty ingenious on the part of the industry since somehow they managed to avoid getting called out for it. Costs less to make and sells for the same; perhaps they successfully convinced the crowd that it was better for health reasons.

Happy St. Patty's LD. Have fun celebrating. Our celebration is a bit more sober since Shir is about eight weeks now.

I didn't notice it was snowing 'till you wrote that. I don't think you're supposed to use those things for smoking anymore.

Until sometime in the middle/late '70s, the only beer available in all of WV was 3.2 beer.
