Actually, it's possible...EOD3MC, I and a few others enter a harescramble a 1-2 times a year. As turtle slow I am, I never felt like folks were eating me to get past. The truth of the matter, as long as you start in the last wave of riders, they spread out a lot over 7 miles of course. I actually felt "alone" for most of my ride. Of course, I only did 3 laps before time was called while they did 7-9

Since you probably can't ride the women's class, look for the sportsman class.

Round 14 of 15 for the VCHSS series...not a racer, but still want to have fun. They have created a sportsman class. No points, No awards but you can run both the morning and afternoon events.

Basic info here

Possibly even heading out for Round 13 in Rural Retreat VA, 10/13/2013
Rattlesnake Hare Scramble.

As of now, it looks like Cheyenne is going to race with me and take part in the kids Horizons class for both races.

What are you saying, I can't keep up with the women? j/k

This looks like an awesome idea, thanks! I will look into this info you sent.

---------------

Okay Dorito.... I've looked into this some. I think this may be the series that Eben Cox is riding in. (I wonder how he's doing...)
Lots of rules to digest here... and a few notable expenses to consider....
I'm thinking maybe next year, if circumstances allow. Perhaps one event, nearby, like Ruckersville. Besides the sportsman class, they have an "R" class I'm eligible for. And might even stand a chance in.
I don't see any "bike limitations" yet. There must be some though. I wonder if it's allowed to ride my 650 street-legal bike.
Thanks for pointing this out. Looks like a great pastime. Y'all have fun when you go!

I guess there's no campout there this year.

Looks like he may be doing well in the series, though. Came in third at sandy bottom in the 30+ B class. 6th in overall class standing for the season. Go Eben! Hope Terry, Linda, and family are well.

I saw this crop growing in a field on the side of the road. Anyone know what it is?

Unappreciated and negatively cloaked in racist and ignorant political agendas in the US for the past 80 years?
