Tragic! Our prayers and best wishes to him and his family.

I often wonder how long before I have an injurious encounter with a forest rat. People should sit up and take note that, despite their perceived "cuteness", indeed these nuisance animals should be hunted with vigor in all localities to reduce their population and increase their fear of humans.

"bout a month ago, here in CT, we had a rider, (past New England Enduro champion in 1993) killed by a deer strike. Shoot'em cook'em eat'em. Venison chili, can't get enough.

Best wishes for a full recovery

Cool Dean, sorry you're not seeing bucks yet but at least you're seeing game. I've got two more days at work and then it's all about the deer for the next few weeks.

I saw a smaller bear Saturday (25 yards) and my father in-law saw a mama and a cub. Then Monday we all saw the one I have video of, 4 different bear on the same property. Muzzle-loader bear season opens Saturday but I'll be working and probably won't see another one the rest of the year.

Some more video after he went past me...

Shannon Update

I got a message from dljocky's wife last night. Hope I have this right. A friend on facebook can correct me. He had surgery on his left knee yesterday. I don't have any details but it was a long day.

She would like to thanks everyone for the gift. B.E. Coyete organized it. Thanks so much B.E. And I learned how Paypal works. There was $900. We will transfer more as any come in.

Also posted in Hampton Roads and Richmond.

That will help. They are blessed with friends who are resourceful and make effort on their behalf. When I had my wipeout that sent me to the hospital, it took about a year to get them paid off after the deductible on the insurance. And I don't really know what happened since the impact cleared my memory from a couple hours before to about three hours after. Kevin, you might remember when I stopped at your driveway with LJ, when you were talking to Warren - well, heading out your driveway is the last I remember from that ride. Memory resumes in the hospital after I reportedly had a bunch of scans and x-rays. Wrecking can be expensive! (and hurt)
Quick recovery to Shannon.

I do remember that. I guess I understand now why you never paid me back the 50 bucks I loaned you that day.
