Cross-Post from the Chatter Thread . . . .

Just an average fall day in the Pacific Northwet . . .

So, SweetBird and I drove about 15 minutes down the highway to Chico Creek this afternoon to watch the salmon spawn . . . (Sorry about the grain; the day was pretty cloudy and dark, and IOT show the fish in a photo I had to use the polarizing filter . . . and an ISO of 1600)!!

Hundreds of fish, most 2' to 2 1/2' long, thrashing up a shallow creek to spawn and die. Magnificent sight; we didn't realize some of the salmon runs are rebounding like this.

End of the line for this guy . . . and all his friends.

Yawn . . . another day in paradise . . . .

Question Ktm 350 ?

Hey herders...

My son has a chance to buy a KTM 350 for $500. Thoughts? It's a 2 stroke with lights for the road ...

1988 mxc. Lightly ridden...

Lights for the road or titled for the road. There is a difference. At that price it would make an awesome woods bike even if it isn't titled for street use!

Replacement with a higher bridge...

Morgans Ford bridge is scheduled to be replaced in the next few years too.

^^ Hey Mike I could probably research this but would you mind schooling me a bit on the SPOTs? Do you pay a yearly fee for service? What else needs to be done to activate?

Sure. There is a yearly service fee which varies based on what level of subscription you get. There is also an ADVRider discount that gets you the tracking mode for free ($50 value). I think I paid $99 for a year of service and tracking with the ADV code on mine. THis one was my aunt's and she didn't use it as much as she thought (only once).

Seriously, feel free to speak to me like I'm two years old. So does that mean it comes with some existing service? I know you are cheap so you get what I'm asking I see you used it once so it was activated, correct?

This specific unit was activated when my aunt used it but I believe that may have been over a year ago. I do not think it has a current service contract applied to it.
