NO I know where stone camp is. It was one of Skippii's Triple Tags where I almost got hit by lightning multiple times.

This is the turn to the spot I was talking about

This is just before the Mud Bogs at Maple Spring on Dundore Mountain. There is an old refrigerator, sink, outhouse, fire pit, bed springs and thermometer on the tree. Pics from another ride up there

Oh, that's cool - I've haven't explored all those little fork offs. I'm usually trying to not get too far behind Marty or someone (LJ, Dean,...) hehe Heck, I went through there the first few times without noticing even Stone Camp! What does that tell ya.... But too bad you didn't check out the cabins; AFAIK, Dean and I are the only ones on here who've seen them. They reallly do exist, I tell ya!!!

Check out the County GIS Browser, you can see most any inhabited structure up that way. There are a few cabins down along Union Springs near Mud Pond and then a bunch up there by Maple Spring. Where are the "cabins" you speak of located? Near the stone building in my earlier picture? Are they abandoned and from the turn of the century or actively used?

It's the fork-off to the right, near the top, that's always been gated. I wrote about them in my 9-18-9 ride report. Please PM me the GIS link, thanks. Too many posts back in tag to find it in reasonable time.

I like to use banjo strings. Gives the engine a more "twangy" feel.

Thanks. I am going to be hard headed and try to ride it over during lunch. Its fine with low RPM's and its all stop and go so we'll see. Nice thing about this town is its small enough to walk back where you started

Famous last words

TW is in the storage unit. I forgot my key for the storage at home so I had to make a detour Was acting up but ran enough to get me there with the choke full out. I am going to mess around with it tonight or tomorrow but suspect it is just crud on the main jet or crap in the floatbowl that got stirred up after our ride to Union Springs last night. The other stuff listed is mainly random tech I plan to do one step at a time anyway. TDubb overhaul on MY schedule - slow and steady wins the race (of happiness)

Thank you Mica for offering your truck. I have those Heine Gericke Pants if you want to try them on.

fellow inmate in Buena Vista today

Hey, I saw another inmate down in Buena Vista today on a TW! It was a newer model. Had BRP sticker on side and ADV sticker on front # plate.

HBN, was that your long lost cousin? I was gonna hollar at him but he came out, saddled up and ran off before I knew it. I heard the lil' pony start up and he was rolling by the time I could get around to where I could see him...

Anyone know who that would have been?

VoodooSix

Yeah I sent him a PM a few months ago. He is a family man who doesn't get much chance to ride. Lives right in downtown and TW is always parked on the street near that pub.

On a TW note, fuel flow was fine through the fuel filter and from the petcock. I pulled my Carb and will start the surgery this evening on the kitchen table [perks of being single ]. Mica came over to the storage unit and adjusted his chain Nice boots man!

so y'all got camping around here?

my s\o and a couple of her friends want to go camping around harrisonburg and I was wondering if y'all had any primo spots in the area. I can't do the whole maintained campground where you put up a tent next to a 50' RV so I'm looking for something a little more primitive and hopefully a little more secluded. The only catch here is that they're going to bring all the gear ( ) and they've got a Honda CRV, so jeep trails are kind of out of the picture.

Basically we're looking for a campground they can drive to that's not an RV parking lot or a 10x10 patch surrounded by 50 other tents. I'm always a fan of creeks too if you can throw one in there.

Bonus points if you've got an interesting route for a drz to get there
