I was about 15 at the time and it was 10PM at night. It has snowed about 8" and the plows had yet to show anywhere around. There was this huge hill (about 400' long) which crossed a roadway then continued on down the rest of its length. It seemed to go on forever so we would ride down, take the jump over the road, then continue on. We finally wound up using the large two lane road that was covered with snow as a short hill. Out of nowhere, a cop car is attempting to come up the hill spinning its rear tires and almost crashing into the curb a couple times. Eventually, the only car we had seen in three hours, puts its lights on and stops. The whole lot of us sledding were highly amused by the ridiculous scene which I'm sure made the cops feel less at peace with the situation. I woulda asked for a ride home in the cop car but it was probably safer to just walk!

That's a good story Mike!
The cop was just trying to follow his creed "to protect and to serve" ![]() Alright, I'll tell one. No sled involved. I used to have a 74 VW Beetle. One day earlier in the day we had a 4"-5" snowfall. When I got off work at 12:00AM I went to the local middle school (Tyler middle school in Haymarket)parking lot and proceeded to do dounuts throughout the entire parking lot. I was just about done playing when the Haymarket town police showed up. They asked me what I was doing. I guess the tire tracks, and me spinning around the lot wasn't enough to clue them in. They just told me to leave. I just heard on the news after the last big snow we had that some kids got arrested for trespassing doing the same thing...

Its actually a charge for Reckless Driving now and a 6point fine for "driving unsafe in a parking lot" in addition to whatever trespassing fines may apply.

This the new toy I've been playing with,Trikke Skki it's soo fun, can't wait to take it to Snowshoe where I'm taking a trip next weekend or locally to Bryce where this thing is also allowed. Unfortunatelly Massnutten doesn't seem to be on the list, but I might try it anyway this week. It's a cambering 3 ski thing with a handlebar,no special boots needed, super easy to learn how to cruise down a mountain.
![]() ![]() Did some snow hiking for 6miles to yesterday. ![]() ![]() This Kubota was our ski lift. No tresspassing or reckless driving charge for doing donuts on the farm in this thing. ![]() This is an older pic from the tag ride the other day. Guess the rains be making some ruts in the roads! I got suck had to pull myself out, do they make winches for scooters? Guess I picked the wrong place to cross,I have to keep reminding myself this is not a dirtbike... ![]() Cool truck off a dirt road in Madison county.

Sweet toy! I expect to see BT's and Gimme's XCountry pics in a day or two.
The pic of your bike in the ditch was funny - how'd you get it in/out? Unrelated - for those winos in the audience

Yeah the back tire was just spinning and not pushing the front tire over the lip.
Super lurker Ducati neighbor helped me pull it out by the rear grab handles. Seriously Rob spends more time lurking in Jo Momma and tells me about ride reports that I never saw etc...His wife is all like thanks for showing him ADV that's all he does now, kids are neglected, chores remain undone and he's following 127 pages of RR from Siberia...Welcome to the club... But Rob get a freaking ADV name already and chime in, I know you see this! He's been worried about choosing just the right handle for himself. Got any tips for him?... B'villeBob how's that? or DucatiRob or howabout...Compressedsprings now that's a good one!

I'd say that the translator was lacking, since hfg finally did get one to work and the translation made sense. But I'm just a lurker.

Besides, we really can't afford to have people actually knowing how to handle their vehicles in low-traction conditions. The money saved would be a huge blow to the economy, and the lives saved would contribute significantly to the overpopulation dilemna.... ![]() I wonder if we will we wake up in time to save it... |
