Yeah, the college down here has one in late april but I know in the meantime I wont be adhering to the learner's permit guidelines... trying to get it knocked out sooner!

The DMV test is a piece of cake. I took it on a street bike at 16, and had never ridden a street bike before the test. Getting legit is better than being popped for not complying!

That being said, if you're new to riding altogether, it would be wise to take the course (even if you already passed the test). I don't believe those courses were around when I hit the road...

The forerunner of the MSF courses were the Yamaha Learn to Ride Safety Clinics which started around 1970. The MSF was started in 1974 by the major players at the time (Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki et al) and they formed the nucleus of what we have today. Initially, the instructors all came from local shops and were for the most part volunteers.

Yeah, what you did to pass a test 30+ years ago has no meaning now. I think it is quite difficult with out proper knowledge and training. You just can't "wing it"...

Hmm how long before a nice one shows up on the used market? Although I doubt these bikes will be depreciateing too much and not holding most of their value over time.

She'll just break your heart, just look at her. Run, don't look back.
