Hell yeah, I'm not a Top Gear fan per se, but I saw the Vietnam episode and have to admit, that was about the funniest thing I'd seen in a long time!

Glad you posted that link. I have been watching TopGear for years and was so happy when they made this little adventure. As a scooter rider for my college years, I associated with many of their dilemmas.

Riding over to Monterey Sunday for the Maple Festival if anyone is interested.

Traveling south on 81 today, I see an XB12 in my rear view. I get over and it turns out his license plate reads "PA ADV". I give him the salute but I don't think he saw me. I then road along behind him around 85 all the way down to HBurg. Turns out it was Skyclad, creator of the PA Tag and some other notable tags. Cool beans

The Wall that Heals

I got this email today. Anyone interested?
http://www.vvmf.org/index.cfm?SectionID=3

Quote:

Many of you have mentioned interest in this opportunity. I do apologize for the blast email, but having this incredible display in Harrisonburg is truly a great opportunity.

The escort will be meeting in the parking lot of Sheetz in Mount Jackson, Virginia on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 1530 or 3:30pm for all you civilians. The exit number off I-81 Sheetz is 273.

The address is:
Sheetz
227 Conicville Boulevard
Mount Jackson, Virginia 22842
540-477-3110

The Escort will be leaving the Mount Jackson Sheetz shortly after 330 in an attempt to travel thru downtown Harrisonburg shortly after 1700 / 5pm for live news coverage.

The plan is to escort the truck south along Route 11 and I-81 when necessary to exit 243 on the south end of Harrisonburg. We will then escort the truck the entire length of Main Street before arriving at the final destination at the Ralph Sampson Park.

Please find attached a couple fliers with information for the arrival of the Wall That Heals. I would encourage you to contact all the riding groups that you know and encourage them to come join us as we escort the large truck carrying the Wall That Heals. Several have been contacted, but do not assume that everyone has received the proper information.

Anyone with questions regarding the escort can call me on my cell phone which is listed below or via email. Other questions or for more volunteer opportunities you may contact Kay Kibler at 540-820-2331

We will welcome law enforcement escorts from Rockingham County, Shenandoah County, the City of Harrisonburg and the Virginia State Police.

Ever Forward!

Chaz

Watch out for that Tangle-Foot

Rockingham Register, Harrisonburg, Virginia
April 11, 1890: From Port Republic. Monday, April 8, 1890. Our section of
the country has been much exercised over numerous cases of rowdyism for
several weeks past, and whilst our justice of the peace has tried and fined
several parties, we think the "punishment did not fit the crime." WALTER
CRAWFORD was arrested and fined $10 and costs and bound over to keep the
peace for 12 months: cause, too much tangle-foot, which caused him to feel
belligerent, to use profane language, to make threats and throw rocks at the
house of THOM. SIPE. JACOB SIPE, DAVE ROADCAP AND JOE RANDALL were tried for
the same offense and fined $2.50 and bound over to keep the peace.

Tanglefoot was a term for cheap whiskey.

I am thinking about setting up a Hollow Exploration Ride in the area around Stanley and Elkton. Now I know what you're thinking - this may be a risk to our lives - but there are many state roads back in the hills and some interesting places I wanted to check out. Some areas that come to mind: Tanners Ridge Rd, Cubbage Hollow (near Dog Slaughter Mtn -what a name aye?) Thoroughfare Rd to Hensley Ch., Huckleberry area, anything legal off Comertown Rd. and finally Pitt Springs near the north end of Cub Run Rd. Lots of these are dead ends and would involve turning around and going back to a main rd. Most of these roads are paved I believe. Iamchaz may know this area well and could probably suggest areas to avoid. No dates planned but there are so many dark little hollows up there that I would probably never go into.

Head on up. There are some fun roads in the area. I'd be glad to give a little tour.
