Dan's CBR shook hands with Mike's TW in a parking lot awile ago.
After the friendly greeting, the TW lost a milk jug mike had glued to a handlebar. The CBR was totalled.

Anyway, just park the TW in my driveway sometime today or tomorrow morning, I'll give you a ride back to the garage, and you can ride around on the BMW. No time pressure then if you don't have the TW operational. Or, you could just show up with pizza and watch us wrench. ...and search for that 6mm allen wrench for which I'll be yelling as fluids gush out of the engine and I'm desperately holding the engine together until I can tighten that one bolt..... Yeah, this is gonna be great.

Am I bringing Pizza? Just curious b/c you mentioned food. I have a meeting that may run a little over 11:45 (expect me there sometime after noon but before 12:30)
The BMW doesn't even get its jug temp up to normal on my way to work. It is a wonderful bike but I don't plan on making it my around town commuter - wear and tear and all. As for Dan's CBR, I think insurance totaled it due to the fairing damage and an assortment of other items. He called Blue Ridge Honda and had them take off just enough stuff so that it was under the "Totaled" limit - not sure how.

Won't be able to make it to the tech day tomorrow guys, but y'all have fun anyways!
Sometime like in the first or second week of June, I'd like to do a tech day to replace the doohickey on my KLR. I'd love to have someone present that's done it before, and also someone who has the necessary tools once you get inside the motor. I'd be happy to host the tech day at my place; I have a "garage", but it's more like a shed (the lighting inside leaves something to be desired). Or if someone wants to volunteer their garage, I'd be happy to bring food and drinks with me in return. Also, pipe in on what day would work best for you, and that way we can try to accomodate as many people as possible.

Time for you to get a place that is way out of town like, 35 miles away from your work and picked out so that the commute is all twisties. What's the burger gonna be for now? Around town stuff and cold weather? I guess it's no longer gonna be your "touring" bike, unless your differentiating between sport touring and scooter touring, now that is specialization. Let me just tell you girls dig riding on maxi scooters I've discovered, so it can be your date ride. |
