Those of you not coming are about to miss out on the most unhealthy meal of your life.

It'll be damned tasty, though, despite having the nutritional value of a ashtray of cigarette butts.

Hppyfngy,

Mtnflow put a set of IRC GP-1's on my DR back in March. Due to a recent run a bad luck I've only put 800 miles on them, but I'm liking them so far. They aren't the mud tire a 606 is but they seem like a good all around tire and come with alot of good reviews. They are very similar to the Kenda 270 although a bit pricier. From what I've learned the IRC has a softer compound than the Kenda and is made in Japan the Kenda is made in China I believe.

IRC GP-1

I'm tired of my Gripsters and was debating 606 and Mefo.

I avoid slab like the plague and probably do about 60/40 pavement/gravel-dirt.

Like to get some decent mileage. (I think Mefo's are unavailable right now though...)

XC are those Mefos? You likey?
The best bang for the buck I've found for a KLR 650. http://www.bikebandit.com/product/9877

The rear tire made 7100 miles with some life left, but I frequently bolt out the driveway for 3-500 mile round trips, so I like to limit my road side tire drama. They handle as well as any other that I've run [IRC GP1's, IRC GP110's, Kenda 270's, Dunlop stock tires]. The bike has a large set of aluminum panniers, tank panniers and a 185 LB rider before gear.

Shinko 244 with 1430 miles, mounted 6 days ago.

On the left is a Shinko 244 with 7100 miles. On the right is a IRC GP1 with 4600 miles.

The Shinko's behave well on asphalt, wet and dry, they present no difficulties on corners, perform well on gravel and dirt. They are not a Motocross tire, nor are they a respected sport touring tire. But they do deliver as far as a dual sport tire, with longer than average mileage life and good warranty. Shinko will replace the tire should you run into manufacturing defects. They do not pro-rate the replacement tire. Your Shinko tire fails due to manufacturing defects, you get a new tire, regardless of the miles you have on the tire. I wish Avon was as generous.
My travels are probably similar to yours. I will run 150 miles into West by God on asphalt twisties, drop off onto what ever gravel / dirt / goat trail the bike will travel without assistance from a winch. And then get back on the twisties and beat feet back home. You know, just your average day of crude-patched asphalt, mud, rock, crushed gravel, and the daily deer-dodge tire skid. Not asking for much, right?

So, who's going to be around this weekend? I'll bring the 230 if anyone wants to do some x-ploring. I should be to the compound Saturday mid-morning.

Fox, I'll bring your gloves if your going to be around.

Had a nice little lunch tech today @ the garage of malcontent (skippii's house)

When I arrived he had already plugged his CBR tire:

Here is the front wheel of mystery bike:

Task at hand: New Brake Pads

New Pads Installed:

Wheel remounted now let the cooking begin...we can bleed the brakes some other time

Can anyone guess what he was cooking? I have two black zip ties and a beer for the winner...

How does it taste?

Is that a hotdog in the oil??

Thanks Motox not sure of the campout yet. I may have my little bro and his HS buddies at my house this weekend. But if not I'm gonna come by at least for Sat. night. Yeah I miss those gloves, I'll bring the TLC ones by.

Neighborhood grill out at my neighbors house tonight to kick things off for this weekend. If any of you are around tonight on this side of the hills, come by my house or my neighbor Marty's actually which is the big brick one on the corner.

Nope not a hotdog. Have fun at the BBQ. Sometime in the future I'll return the BBQ favor but I don't have any cable tv so...

Just saw this on WHSV I-64 Delays

Cable TV is not needed for a BBQ!

But I do have shows that show the history and factory tours/inner workings of MV Augusta,Bimota,Ducati,Suzuki,etc...on my DVR in the form of a great new show called Twist the throttle every Monday night that's pretty cool.

My next BBQ or get together will incorperate my refreshing swimming pool on a hot day. No jumping in with all your bug splattered gear on!

Don't know anything about that tire, but I like the price.

Where's that scene from the Cannonball run where the drunk guys in the muscle car drive it into the pool?

I'm headed over to Hburg right now to pick up my car at mid atalantic motorwerks.
