Might have to take a big swig of the kool-aid and head north. DHS wants to make me a job offer tomorrow and I already have a interview on Monday with TSA. USMC at Quantico want to keep me but not much that they can offer except the shorter commute and the oooorah factor. What to do....What to do....

So let's see. HBN has provided maps, we all have bikes and the weather is starting to turn. Why haven't we done this yet? I am good for most sunday afternoons.

HBN- you've got some neat videos attached to the "strom drop". Thanks for sharing.

yes, valongbeard, it's time for a ride

I agree with valongbeard. First, it's time for a ride. Second, I need to start meeting people from this site so I can put a name to a face. Sorta of new to the area and looking for people to ride with.

Yep, that's me front and center with the silver/black jacket.

What's the date of the next lunch? I heard it was in Marshall.

Well, I've the KTM back. It cut off on my way home three weeks ago and long story short (waiting on parts) it was the fuel filters in the pump that were completely clogged. I've got 37,035 miles on the bike if anyone needs a reference as to when you should change your fuel filters .

I went to get the DRZ inspected today and my lack of front brake pads failed it. Lucky for me I had a set at home and was able to get the new ones on in no time.

The KTM needs a March inspecton too and the rear tire was iffy. To avoid another run around like the DRZ I decided to go ahead and swap out the rear.

The fun part. I normally change tires with the Harbor Freight tire changer but decided to use only the tools I carry to test a "middle-of-no-where flat" situation. It took longer but I was able to do it with three tire irons and my little under the seat pump. It's nice to know.

Now back to lurking....

So far this week, I've had two flat tires (screws in both), and today my GPS just stopped working. That's two Garmins that died for absolutely no reason, one that fell off the bike while riding, and one mysteriously vanished from a bike. Can't blame Garmin for the latter two, but if this wasn't still under warranty, I'd consider a different brand. When I've had two models fail while I'm taking good care of them (it was in my car, charging up, when it suddenly shut off), I really question how well they'll last while adventure riding.
