mmmnooooutch... well folks, as sweet these cheeks might be...I'm not quiet sure, whether it's a realy good idea to highjack exactly THIS thread with ANY kind of offtopics. As hot they might be! I'm realy worring that his enlighted sir flugmeister will not appreciate it at all.... it'll be a terrible massacre if he's discovering this affron in the wrong mood...

Let's hope it'll meet his graciouse approval...

It was all part of the schedule at this year's Big Dog gathering. "Amy" was to show up on Saturday and wash the bikes in a bikini. I didn't want my bike washed. Instead, I took a few snapshots. I'm sure she's a very nice girl.

Aw crap! I was gonna submit a pic of my GS with its new bedliner-covered adventure tank. I think I'd better wait till I can get a double-bubble seat cover like that-un.

Getting a GS... (one that doesn't suck)

Okay, I moved from CA doing lots of pavement cruising and canyon carving in the Santa Monkey Mountains, and now I'm in the middle of ADVENTURELAND! So my YankeeBeemers buddy says, "Get rid of all that chrome and go to a R1200GS... looks good to me, considering I'm ALWAYS ready for an adventure and that there is SO much gravel and mud and snow and general moto-mayhem near me now.

My question to the GSers out there is:

How to have the dealer set up the ride to avoid getting one that sucks?

What factory accessories, etc. will keep it from being sucky?

Is there a performance "breathing" (suck for inhale; blow for exhale) and exhaust system that should be considered at delivery?

Tunable fuel injection? (Any need for this?)

Aftermarket options and accessories that are popular or mandatory?

I know that there may be an archive on this site that I may need to access, rather than trouble all of you, but I was told that since I was new, I could get some informed direction.

thanks in advance for the advice, see you in the Utah, California and National Parks!!

...m...

You could install every imaginable accessory made for the GS and it could still suck. It's all in the composition of the photo. Nachtflug, if he ever gets out of JM, will decide if your ride sucks or not. It's his thread. He can say whatever he wants.
Jim.

How about mine? The guy bowing infront of my GS rides one of the KTM´s. He´s
worshiping the mighty off road capabilities of my GS. Pic was taken on the top off a steep hill in Lapland.

well, tonight we get up to date. laundry, shaving, showers will all take a back seat until we're caught up. hope the booze holds out.

not sure whats going on in Jaakima's picture here, (hey Jaakima wanna buy a vowel?) but from what I can see all 4 bikes have the # 14 on them.

is this some kind of Nordic cult or something?

this really isn't a picture I can work with Jaakima, but in the spirit of Lance Armstrong cheating in the Tour de France I'll give you another chance.

now I know Finland isn't the most heavily populated place but lets see if we can find some hot Finnish dish to pose on your GS for the gang OK?

go for it and check back soon. we're counting on you.
