The background to the race which starts at 0.59 was explained to me the other day. Just prior to this race David Jeffries 1000cc R1 had said that Joey was finished on his 750cc rc45, but Joey had been out earlier and changed the gearing for the second Superbike race of the day...........

Joey was THE man! Truly sad to see him go that way but probably better than old age. The interview with Philip and how Joey would come to a race after a few hours sleep and a few beers and spank the dedicated racers that exercised, dieted, and were to bed by 10 was priceless.

Ah yes. That's exactly what we need more of. It's that sort of riding that endears motorcyclists to the general public. I suppose that is the reason why legislators have opened up the entirety of the wilderness to off road riding. Surely all traffic laws will be repealed for street riders in the new year so we can have complete freedom.
