Norton Rules!

Hi!

Some of you have probably seen this, and some of you may not have. Either way it's still really touching to watch.

If it's really 205, than I apologize. I just saw it for the first time a few minutes ago. Hope it's okay to post it here.

Enjoy,

Liz

It is 205 but who cares; it's worth the repost or ten.

DevilNinjaDog, Hi!

Sorry, I just found where Evil Clown had posted it in September. You're right though, it's still a good story, especially in Holiday Season.

Thanks!

Watching this illustrates to me what BMW has lowered themselves to; notice the comment about building "brand identity", pay attention to the idea that "you can live your dreams", this is the kind of thing that gets people to spend big money to get on a bike that they absolutely DO NOT have the skills and experience to handle safely. Marketing to Nimrods with money is the reason that BMW has developed their vaunted ABS, traction control, gyroscopic stability, whizz-bang technology.

Ruben Xaus doesn't need all that techno-stuff, he has unreal skills. If this techno-stuff was so red hot, why is he described as "vice-champion"? Last time I checked there was "Champion" (#1) and "Runner-up" (#2, first loser, everybody else, the peloton, etc)
Really?

No, I am guessing that it is rather: "Hey, Hans, where-the-f&%$ did you drag me out?"

The reason I think about the expletives is that YouTube flagged this video for adults only - and I quote: "This content may contain material flagged by YouTube's user community that may be inappropriate for some users". I kid you not! An inappropriate video! (When going directly to view at YouTube).

By the way, this video is 205, but that's OK - really worth it. For those who care, it was made by German riders traveling in Maritime Alps in Italy. They are traveling on the Ligurian Border Ridge Road - a former military road, some 60km long, on the border between France and Italy, at the extreme southwestern tip of the Alps.

To avoid repeats: here is the post in this thread that has both original videos from Ligurische Grenzkammstrasse: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=508.

I'm going to preface this with the fact that I'm a huge chassis & suspension geek, so probably not everyone will find this as jaw-droppingly sexy as me.

This is a hand-made racing chassis for a... wait for it... Honda Monkey bike, which is a popular racing platform in Japan. It is a pretty clever packaging of the Hossack type of front end - the front shock is located near the rear, under the seat, and is activated by a tidy pushrod and bellcrank arrangement. Since the whole bike is so tiny, there was no room for the shock in the 'usual' spot.

There are more pix at: http://www.over.co.jp/overnow/?offset=6
