Do it! Just make sure you make a good part of the trip Newfoundland. Nova Scotia was great too but the RV traffic can be horrible. NFL was free and open and not so touristy. Check out Gross Morne and Lans Aux Meodows (The Viking Site)

Bastards. All of you.
Dammit, you guys aren't helping... a friend of mine took my wife for a 130mph blast on his FJR a few months ago, and now she's got Feejer Fever.
Oh yeah, he let me ride it for about 40 miles of twisties, too. Bastards. Just when I'm starting to get some shit paid off...

In Big Bend. Mine's the one in front. Best bike I've ever owned. Period.

Wow, you guys, nice bikes!
I have a friend that has a FJ. Looks like an amazing hypertourer. What kind of mpg does it get? I was on a sportbike ride this spring and a group of FJ's rolled in and one dude had AKRA pipes on his, man was that bike cool. I've been contemplating a FZ1, but I heard mileage is only in the 35 mpg range.

In stop and go traffic I can drop it down to 32 mpg or less if I'm having fun. If you ride at sane speeds it will get 42 to 46 mpg with the bags on and a touring screen. I got it to 48 mpg riding the OBX area but, it was at grandpa speeds, all under 60 mph with lots of stops and picture taking.

I've got an FZ1 too, Fun bike. The FJR is smoother way better wind protection and I like the shaft drive. The FZ is more of a hooligan. Lighter, but you do have to run the tach high to get a serious rush. If I could only have one the FJR would win out for overall use. ![]() My old 03 FJR could get a little "Frisky" once in a while. The 06 takes much more effort to loft the wheel.
