Nothing much from last year in Ky.
Very new to video and done with cheap point and shoot.

Fun ride though

Not sure if that's an 86. Check the frame. In 1984, that was the only year Yamaha made the XT250 in that style. In 1985, it became the XT350 with a front disc brake. US of course.

This bike was awesome in FIRST BLOOD! My friend had one long ago. I loved that thing.

Hi Hamm,

they're a fabulous machine.

Come on over to www.xt225.com where you'll find fellow like minded people. The site covers both the 225 and the 250 models.

Enjoy your early riding and you never know where things may take you!

Regards

Reggie

New to me 1981 XT250

Just bought for $400 with title. She runs but needs a lot of work. Front brake cable, rear wheel bearing and truing, headlight flickers, rear brake light switch, speedometer works sometimes, mirrors, some gasket is leaking still investigating, misc. small parts. Hey the tires are Bridgestone's and not too bad though.

Alright good... we've got a couple of vintage guys on here now.

My '81 250 is the first bike I ever owned. However, all the wiring/lights were pulled off of it when I got it (basement find).

So since I'm starting from scratch, I'm wondering about upgrading to 12v. I'm told it's as simple as replacing the voltage regulator and battery. Not worried about running a whole lot of lights... hell, I don't even need turn signals in NY before '83 . Is that all there is to it?

wolfman bags

I really like them. They're perfect for this little bike. I use a happy trails rack. I think a tail rack is unnecessary, things strap right on the tail of the bike without it, and I've always wondered how the bags would ride without the side racks. I started carrying a camelback so now I can fit everything without the big blue bag since I don't have 2-3L of water in them anymore. -al

Looking on Google Earth to see if I could find an area to ride my XT off road.
Well what do you know found something right across the street.

Found out about a week ago that the property is owned by some real estate company.
I have seen a few riders on the trails and talked to them so it's seem it's a don't ask and don't tell on riding this area.
We will see.....

Anyway here's some photos.

Also found some cool old houses here too.

Here's some of the old stone house.

Old well

Well that's about it.

Check out the satellite maps good source for riding areas.
