Ahhh....I see! I am trying to find a service manual for the 2012 XT 250. I need torque numbers for bolts like handlebar clamp bolts and stuff like that. Anyone got one?

I recently bought a slightly used 2012 XT250 after reading all the positive posts on this thread. The XT had only 143 miles and was in great condition. For a returning motorcyclist (I had about a 14 year break from riding), this motorcycle is a lot of fun around town. I also recently started riding on dirt and gravel roads and I'm really enjoying learning how to ride off-pavement using the XT. Thanks everyone!

150ron, the rack was purchased from immixracing. They have a decent video on their website of the rack and the installation process. The tail bag is a Nelson-Rigg brand that's advertised for sportbikes. I purchased it online from motorcyclegear. They used to be called "New Enough" and sold it as "last year's model" at a discount price. I used zip ties to secure the bag to the rack. I'll take some close up pictures today and post them later.

I received my Barkbusters VPS in the mail! Does anyone know if the stock XT250 handlebar is hollow at the ends
or do I have to bust my knuckles drilling out the ends like I did on my KLX 250? That was a PITA! I'm been too busy to peel of the left grip to check.... Thanks!

Hollow. Just slice off the ends of the grips and go. I think that you have to trim the end of the throttle tube also, but may be mistaken. It's been a while.
