Longer Shift Lever?

Does anyone make a longer shift lever for the KLX250S? I checked but couldn't find a definitive answer. Are the KLX and KLR650 shift levers interchangeable?

I wear size 12 moto boots and went to the IMS extended shift lever on my KLR and its perfect. I'm assuming I need an extended lever for the little bike too. If they are interchangeable and I sell the KLR, I'll swap the old lever back on the KLR.

Geared up I'm right around your weight. I was hoping I wouldn't need to add something like a stiffer Top Gun rear spring like I did to my KLR. Great news you're hitting decent HWY speeds. I'm kind of a putter - like to take my time on dirt and 60-65 HWY is cool by me...

I just ride it as is. I'm not recommending it for you, I'm just saying that you COULD ride it if you were determined to. It's certainly not ideal. A DRZ400 or similar would be a much better fit.

$275, free shipping (sales tax if you're in California like me, ugh). Sadly, I don't have any money right now or I'd order one. Heck, IMS is over in Riverside, about an hour and a half away.

If you were on the emailing list they gave out a promotion code for a discount.

Cool that theres no charge on the shipping.

Ordered one already. Hopefully it won't have the troubles that the Husky fi tanks have....

I thought I was, but never did get anything. Is this a general-purpose code or a one-time-use thing?

What's the discount?

How did you break yours in... Kawasaki recommended, or MotoMan process?

I did the MotoMan break-in. Mine was a dog when I bought it new, and it has picked up power every time I ride it. The only mod I have done is go to a 13 tooth sprocket in front.

Tires are stock. I did get a jet kit for the pipe. I also got a UNI filter put into it. It might make a little difference, not much. If I could do it again, I'd just try to open up the stock pipe's outlet diameter.

Advice

I have a question about buying used. How many miles before a bike is considered having high miles? I think this person wants too much money for this but I am new to the idea of a dual sport. KBB is what he's asking when the bike is excellent. What would be a reasonable offer on my part or should I avoid this? Yes, I would need new tires for the dirt. Seat cracked? Anyone else have a cracked seat?
