A view of the mountain.

And back at home.

The next tag is headed NORTH.
I glad to see somebody else enjoys a Warsteiner also.

We probably don't need too many clues:
1) To get this exact shot, you need to go to the restaurant that shares the mountain's name.
2) It's considered a granite monolith (similar to Stone Mountain).
3) The cliffs formerly used for ceremonies by Native Americans are now used for Army Ranger training as well as for recreational climbers.

Told you it was easy...go get it!

Thats 5 minutes from my house.

That was fast. I was considering Yonah Mtn as a tag. A long time ago, you could drive up the nasty dirt road to the top, but research shows that the road has been closed for years. The Yonah Burger tag was genius. But you really should go during the daylight hours and get you a Yonahburger. Mmm.

We done some surveying across from Mt. Yonah at Elkmont RV resort. I seen a dirt road beside another campground but it had a gate up.

That place has been there forever, not sure if it's the same sign. Whenever I was near there with the kids, I would ask "Yonah burger, or do you just want a drink?". Well..they thought it was funny.

Ain't we missing something?

I know it was a little wet today, but that is no excuse!

I have tomorrow afternoon free and would really like someplace to go (besides Twiggs County)..!

I mean, I'd hate to steal this tag after you rode out in the cold and all....

Putting the NORTH back in north ga tag o rama

Ok new tag.

I was going to take this to some obscure hard to get to place in the woods but I wanted to keep the game moving. This tag was done 2 up in the rain at 35 degrees so you sissies shouldn't have any problems getting it on a nice clear weekend. Oh by the way my riding partner is seven.

Here is the tag.

Here is a picture of where the view is, when it isn't raining. If you are not on the very top of the mountain you are in the wrong place.

Here are the clues.

The tag is NORTH way NORTH.

Other than highways you only need two named roads to get to this area and those roads are named after trees and rivers.

The sum of the digits of the first Forest Service road is an odd number.

You will pass this structure and river and there is a key left turn soon after.

There are quite a few turns and when in doubt take the road that goes up and you will probably be correct.

There are two key right turns. Although if you miss them you will only be punished with good riding.

The mountain has a bad haircut when viewed from a distance and you can see the tag location from one of the named roads on the way in.

The name of the mountain is used in a famous Christmas Carol.

Get the maps out and get to work.
