Now if you could only place it on the way to the Beaver.

Plenty of people could lust over it

I thought about that, but I'm trailering up so I can bring the DRZ and the KTM. Does it count if the bikes are on a trailer?

Here's the new tag. Back to the street. It's in a sweet little valley community nestled in the North GA foothills. This building was a shoe store for the Muse Spread Mfg. Company back in the 1920's and 1930's. The company I work for owns the property now and you can see one of our factories in the background. Muse's family home is to the left of this little building. We use the old Muse home as a cafeteria now.

Mr. Twisty - know any history

Do you by chance know any history about that rock house. House has to be 100+ yrs old. I am pretty sure my great, great grandfather built and owned the place...think his last name was Brown. I have a place 1 and half miles from there. It you see a yaller F800 at the store across the street I will be there eatn my chilli-dog.

The only history I know about the house is what a guy working across the street told me while I was taking the picture. He is the one who told me about Muse. He said it was the company shoe store and that Muse owned it, the rock house, and the store across the street and that his workers earned credit they could use in the stores.

If you know more history about the place I would love to hear it.

All I know is my Mother would have been 95 yrs old this year (deceased) and she used to tell us her family went to that house every Sunday after church when she was a teen...the original owner was probably a Brown or Lay. Been trying to find out about that house for years.

FYI, there is an interesting historical Civil War site 1mile east of the stone house, that few people know about...site of Civil War "Battle of Lay's Ferry"...down off Dobson Road...Lay was also a relative. Historical marker across from Ridgewood Road. Site of battle is rated as inaccessible, but it is close to a mile walk thru rough woods to get there, and a few snakes. PM if you want directions.

That house hasn't changed much over the years, this picture is from '76.

I thought that Ferry was back towards town, at the end of Ridge something another subdivision

I've did some Metal Detecting directly across the River from there years ago.

I've done a whole lot of surveying in that "valley".
