New BMW stick coils made by Pulse
I replaced the stick coils recently on my 04 GSA and noticed that they are now made by Pulse insted of Bremi. It's probably too early to tell, but has anyone had a failure using the latest generation of stick coils? I wonder if the change was to address the known problem, or if it was just some kind of cost saving measure. They certently didn't cut us a break on the retail end!
![]() ![]() When my OEM coil failed it was the left side and it had obvous moisture damage / corosion. I replaced them both as preventitive maintenance. If these crap out, I'm definetly going to do the HackyMoto mod. (See "Coil sticks no more") |

I think I'm up to six stick coils so far with my 2004 Adventure. Might be more since I noticed I have one bad one in the top of the toolbox when I was home and one good spare unopened.
I'll take a looks what are in the bike when I'm back there next time.

After 3 stick coils whose last my bike has almost burned down, I have mounted them away from the heat. So far so good. Thanks to HackyMoto for inspiration

Is there a option/mod/hack for "replacing" stick-coils completely?
