Just wondering if anyone has this for their F800?

Looks kind cool, and I imagine it works great but the price is pretty high, like most items from Touratech.

Laminar Lip height

How high up the stock windscreen are you Laminar users putting your Lips?

I put my Lip at 2" above the stocker and it seems worse than without it. I had to stand a bit to find the clean air. At 5-8, I figure I'll drop it to 1" above and see what happens.

Use masking tape to fit it until you find the right spot. Worked well for me.

So you used plexi-glass to make that? And how did you make it bend? Use a heat gun?

I used 3mm polycarbonate. It can be cold bended on a sheetmetal folding brake but yes I coaxed with a heat gun, very gently. I traced the factory standard screen and then added more where I wanted it

My Custom Shield

Using the Robo Bracket from Madstad. I took the original 650 screen and painted it with trim black. used the BMW touring screen mount (which I used as a mounting point for the top hole of the bracket). Then I took a Powerbronze (MetalMule) windscreen and modified it with a jigsaw.

Ultimately I can also use my 800 screen as a base and create a larger 'front' screen for longer touring... but i took this one out for a 90mph test and it is the solution that I have been looking for. WAAAAAYYYYY less buffeting and noise.

PS I will be swapping out the bare aluminum brackets with black anodized ones soon.

cheers,
Mark

That's pretty damn cool. You can lower it and make it small for dirt, or raise it for freeway timez. Very nice.
