Rt 11 WV/VA Marker
Was out scouting around for some markers on Rt 51 and ended up in VA on some gravel roads that eventually put me onto Rt 11 in Va. Heading back into WV I found this and took some pix in case. Just looked over the spreadsheet and don't see it so...

Lookin at it, it's about 100 yds over on the VA side of the state line, so It's most likely a VA marker.

In addition to $12 a day to park my car there. In addition to ........ oh, the list goes on. "You want a straw with that drink?" ![]() You're welcome to join in the hunt for the last group. They're scattered all around the state. (See elroyjetsn's post above) Lots coming to the eastern panhandle soon (if not already). What part of WV are you from?

I just got home from FL, so I will try to get the spreadsheet updated this weekend or the first of the week. This one was listed as missing. ("Was lost, but now I'm found...")

Hope you had a great time in the other Panhandle!
Tried again to find the Ft. Evans marker on rt. 11 on the ride back to Martinsburg and can't seem to find it on that stretch. Now, a tornado spun off of Ivan took out a few houses along 11 near Inwood and might have carried off that marker as well. Did see the Morgan Morgan memorial with the 2 markers. Been through there lots of times and never noticed it! |

My dad turned me onto this one. It's a newer style, but placed by the WVDOT. Near Harrisville on Co Rd 12 (Bunnels Run). I'm not sure if you want to include it in your list, or if someone has already but here it is...

Very interesting, Gabby. I'll send a link to Joe Geiger and see what he says about it. It's definitely not one of the WV Archives & History markers. It looks like one that was bought and installed by the oil & gas company, but it says WVDOH. Hmmmm.... Stay tuned.

They relocated the road a few years ago to make way for the North Bend Lake backwaters. The oil & gas company has been defunct for decades, so it must have been the DOH who placed it. Interesting none the less.
