Missoula Maladjusted

For those souls in the Missoula-Hamilton area (or others in western MT) that may wish to ride together I have decided to start this thread.

I have not put the bike away quite yet (in fact rode it to work thru the freezing fog this morning) but the weather this weekend (11/22/08) may make 2-wheeled travel problematic - a moist low pressure moving in with cooler temps (that means rain and possibly snow), but the chance to hook up with some local FF for a beer or 2 and to lament the poor weather is always welcome.

Just so there are no misunderstandings about what colors I am wearing this weekend - GO CATS!!!

Well, I'm not sure this is how you wanted this thread to start, but ...

Looking forward to getting a ride in out west this spring/summer. I'll keep an eye out here.

DR's were made for the Bitterroots. Rode to work today as well, fearing the coming weather though.

Go Griz!

Ya beat me to it Tyll, spent the last 30 min looking for a good jpg to post and that beats anything I have found.

So, with (or without) your permission I now have it saved and will be sending it to my mentally challenged mates around here that insist on rooting for the anemic bears...

-15 at the house this morning, my son says Bozeman is colder by a little bit.

Anybody alive out there? Too much snow on the roads to ride, not enough to ski on. Too cold to sit in the garage and work on farkling the bike, or even to sit and stare at it.

Hope y'all are having a good Christmas shopping season.

Dental floss

From a low of minus 16 this morning it is now a balmy plus 8, dental floss only grows indoors up here this time of year, and I can kill most house plants. Stopped at the Yamaha dealer in Island Park and picked up some parts to tinker with, probably with a brew or two. And yes we are still alive, it ain't even cold yet.

Cold?

When it gets cold enough to gel the diesel in my truck it is getting on towards nipply, but so far the additives are holding their own. Yes, I have seen it lots colder - worked wells on the North Slope.

Whats worse is the beer in the truck bed are now all beercicles, nothing popped but the cans are almost spheres - should be interesting when they thaw...

Made it up to a balmy +4 this beautiful sunny afternoon - may have to take my shirt off and get a tan!

-22 here on Monday (without wc) and a balmy -8 yesterday...but luckily got an hour ride in on Friday when it was 47; from the looks of the long range forecast, that may be it for a while.

I'll be skiing Targhee this weekend and Monday, so win/win.

Send SNOW!!
