Baja to Bay of LA - Road conditions?

I'm headed into Baja tomorrow and will go as far as Loreto using pavement since I have to meet others there. On the return I'm thinking about going across 18 to San Francisquito and then up to Bahia de Los Angeles.

Anybody been on those roads recently? How do they compare to San Felipe-Gonzaga Bay or the east-west road between MEX 1 and La Purisima? Jon and I did those two earlier this year and the Uly had no problem. Well, not much of one anyway. If the road condition is better than the east-west road to La Purisima then I'm okay. Otherwise I'll have to take the pavement since I'm going solo. I'm yearning for some off road while I'm there.
