all alone in Johnston Valley
The spot messenger I ordered came in the mail so I took a ride to one of the many empty places around these parts.
I had a great time, covered over 200 miles and connected trails I had not yet connected. I like the freedom that spot messenger gives to go a little further than one should alone. It was a little lonely, so here's my photo and video essay. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice. Like how you added the vid and clear pictures. What a great place to ride, plenty "out there" as well. Looks very dry.

It actually very damp out in the desert, well for such a dry place. Tons of traction and no dust. The sand dunes I rode were soft and sublime, enough traction to get around but soft enough to absorb ruts and such. That lake bed had more grip than pavement, at least with dirt tires.

Gotta love it.
Keep supporting your right to ride on public lands.. Been there and still doing it, 40 years later.. |

It's a shame we'll be losing that area to a bombing range soon.
![]() Glad you got to ride it!! The guys at work loved your video when I showed it to them last night. We played it about 20 times in a row!!!

Those sand dunes are out by Means Dry Lake. I just rode an enduro out there a little over a month ago. Wish it would have been wet then!
