Just to further piss off Jurgen, and in keeping with the single-shot theme that we've been following here for a little while (sorry to you modern auto-loading pistol freaks who've been yearning for some love, but we'll get back to you in due course, no doubt! ), here's a Browning 1885 Hi-wall BPCR in 45-70. I picked it up in a weird trade back around '97 and have shot it some, including at a Quigley Shoot in Forsyth, MT, once. I know I posted pics of this gun in the black powder thread, but can't recall whether I've put them here. Sorry if I'm repeating, but, again, just wanting to piss off Jurgen!

I have never allowed a jacketed bullet to go down the barrel of this gun, although I'm sure it would be fine.

Nice wood.

We're everywhere, but at least I keep using the same Avitar everywhere. And you didn't even post up to say hi. I hope you're not ashamed of your fellow ADV riders?

Lovely.

What's your farthest shot with it? That beauty just begs for five hundred yards.

You both are bad men. Very bad men.

The lever action and that Ruger make a nice pair.
Yep, they're a lot of fun.

I haven't had the rifle very long, but it has become my favorite gun.

It has less recoil than my staple gun, and it's a straight shooter too.

I shot these prior to replacing the sights. The Skinners make it even better for longer ranges.

Too bad it's illegal to hunt deer with a rifle in Ohio, I think it would be pretty good for that. I guess a 400 grain shotgun slug flying through the woods is a lot safer than a rifle bullet though.

IIRC, at the Quigley shoot I attended back in '05, one of the gongs was at about 800 yards. I fired 10 shots and hit it exactly once! Some of the guys there were able to tag it 7-9 times out of 10, and I think one dude got a perfect score. I was definitely out of my league, but it was a lot of fun.
