The Elsie is my go-to as well. Commit to practicing. You'll get better.

Picked up a Ruger P95 NIB for the wife's truck gun this last weekend. Gun show, $300 flat + tax. Thought that was a smokin' deal, and an easy pistol for her to shoot. The SA trigger pull after the first round makes it nice and smooth for her smallish hands.
Also picked up a never-fired 2001 stainless Ruger P89 from the same booth. I have one already, but rarely see them and I've always loved that gun. Big giant chunk of metal with a real hammer. I shoot it better than I do just about any other pistol as well. $300 flat for that gun too, in the box with a pair of 15 rounders. Not a smokin' deal, but they don't make them anymore and it was stainless and hadn't been fired as near as I could tell. If it had, must have been 1 mag and a good cleaning after. So, now I have 3 guns that can share my plethora of mec-gar 17 round mags

Stopped at the local gun shop yesterday....and hanging on the wall was a new Sub2000 Glock 40. They ordered it in Jan and it just showed up! Snagged it pretty cheap, cool little gun.
I'm looking for a Kel-Tec KSG...but they are like Unicorns right now and don't exist. ![]() ![]() Hodakaguy

You need to do some modifications which means having it go through a third-party FFL to get it disassembled. Then you need to convert it yourself. You need a stock extension and a mag-lock or a paddle-grip.

Took my Marlin out to the range today for some load evaluation. My current plinking load is a 165 grain cast lead over 18 grains of 4895. I'll be damned if I didn't plop down and shoot a 4 shot 100 yard group on a cold barrel that measured 1.63". With iron sights! I'm gonna frame that one.

Just pulled the trigger (can I say that here?) on a brand spanking new Ruger 1911, in what they call "low glare stainless". It'll be here in about two weeks. Been thinking about getting back into handguns for a while now, joined the local gun club and got the ball rolling. It's stupid complicated here in Canada. Gun club is outside, so my new Ruger will have to live in my sock drawer till the snow melts.
Thoughts? Lyle |

Spent some time checking the zero with some new ammo in the Weatherby, turns out the longest range on the property I can easily access, is in a section of the driveway. 175 yards. Hope to bring home some venison with it this weekend.
