But you would get a better feel checking the boards I just mentioned.
The scope is a Simmons Aetec.

I paid 150 for it. Is that a normal price, or post freak-out price?

You could be waiting a while... Better to learn how to link images from an online photo storage service (smugmug? photobucket?) instead. You can learn all you need here:

Definitely a classic, and original.

Just wondering if anyone has any good things to say about them, looking at one that seems like a decent price, but I have not heard a lot about them.

I have one and they are great. Just had it out and I put 50 rounds down range a couple of days ago. Mine is very accurate with the iron sights (haven't put a scope on it because I am having too much fun with the iron sights). The magazine is a bit of a challenge to load but once you get the hang of it it goes okay.

My good buddy Jimbo bought one the day I did and he feels the same way about his.

I find that I enjoy shooting my .357 lever action Marlin much more than I do my ARs. .38's are like shooting .22's. Even max .357's are just a little push. I can shoot for quite a while with 100 rounds of ammo. Within 75 yards I can get a hit on an 18x24" steel plate faster with an iron sighted lever gun than I can with pretty much anything else I own- including ARs with red dots. This is the gun I take for camping or bashing around in the desert too. I don't feel undergunned with 10 rounds of .357's traveling at 2000fps- that is for sure.

I FIXED IT, sorry.
Allways wanted a lever gun, it's just fun to shoot. l'll carry it around the farm in the side by side, and porbably take it in the camper too. I wanted the old school 45colt, so it ain't real cheap to shoot though. Use my "Judge" for camping now, 410 for small varmints 45 for big ones.

I've had a concealed carry permit for about 20 years but rarely carry. I'm rethinking that because of one particular neighborhood I sometimes need to visit. I'm thinking of something small like the Kahr CW9 or S&W Shield. What are people's thoughts on needing an external safety? I kind of like the idea of Kahr's double action trigger with no safety. Plus the Kahr is inexpensive yet gets rave reviews.
