My daughter is going to get an LCR. I'll mention the 22 companion idea to her. Good plan. Thx.

I think this is a good thing, especially if it results in more business going to local gun shops. The box stores are mainly managed and staffed by ignorant people who, for the most part, don't share our values. Unfortunately, I think when the current furor blows over they will start selling firearms and ammunition of all types again, and most people will start buying from them again because they will be less expensive than buying from local shops. The public has a short memory and is primarily motivated by lower cost.

What might be a good thing is if firearms enthusiasts let it be known that we are boycotting these stores because of their recent actions in this regard. We are a large group with enormous buying power. What do you think these stores would do if we stopped buying anything from them as a result of this pompous, arrogant, "we'll decide what you can buy from us" stance they have assumed?

Anybody know much about Interarms? I have a 7mm mag mark X rifle. I got it in 1984 used. I had it cleaned, refinished, and ported back then. Used it deer hunting until a few yrs ago ( I hunt with a browning bar 270 now) I would like to sell or trade it for a henry golden boy 22 mag. What is it worth with the Atec scope?

You could probably get a good feel for its selling price by checking completed auctions on GunsAmerica.com or Gunbroker.com. My guess would be that the scope adds very little since it is not a name brand scope, and that the combo would be worth something in the range of $350 to $375. But you would get a better feel checking the boards I just mentioned.

Great suggestion. You can also sell it there. No gun sales here, though.

That is a Simmons Atec, at the time that was the best scope Simmons offered, granted its not a Leupold but certainly a decent scope.

Thanks for the info on my 7mm. I've looked at several gun forums. Looks like I've got a 70's rifle. Very accurate and dependable mauser bolt action. It's put many deer in my freezer over the years, rarely have I had to shoot more than one round or had to follow a blood trail. only drawback is the recoil and weight. I may keep it and put a synthetic stock on it. any ideas on a stock would be helpfull.

I paid 150 for it. Is that a normal price, or post freak-out price?
