The I LOVE THIS GUN Thread
Sad news this AM: Chris Kyle was kiiled at a gun range in Texas. He was nicknamed "The Devil of Ramadi" by Iraqi insurgents as he eliminated 160 of their numbers, including one he killed at a distance of 1.2 miles. This SEAL was a true American hero.

Unreal, He was the one that decked that scumbag Ventura. They have someone in custody, and its Texas, so hopefully they will take care of the problem quickly.

Fellow showed up yesterday at the range I run with a couple of .22 pistols and ammo. He was excited to have found some .22 ammo for sale. The guy he bought it from wouldn't sell him more that 1,000 rds and this guy was thrilled to have gotten them for only $9.00/box of 50. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? That's right, guy paid $9.00 per box of 50 for Winchester Wildcat .22 LR and bought 1,000rds. $25.00 worth of ammo for 180.00. It's been crazy now even crazier.

Yeah, I stocked up. Despite my objections to feeding the frenzy. Of course I'd just bought a 10/22 takedown at Cabela's a couple hours earlier. Same ACE had a Shooter's Ridge 25rd mag and an extra Ruger 10rd rotary mag, where Cabela's had squat for accessories. Yeah, bought those too

![]() I think I bought Midway's last eight boxes of Armscor 9mm for like 23 cents a round a few weeks ago... it seemed outrageous at the time but I'm glad I did. btw the Armscor has worked flawlessly

I just got back from buying a Mosin Nagant for my son's birthday. He loves the old military stuff. I felt lucky to find it. Wasn't long ago you'd see racks of them for under $100 but apparently the importer supply has dried up recently. 7.62x54R is one of the few rounds readily available. I picked up a 440rd spam can - they had skids of them.

Very sad situation. Chris and his buddy were out at the range near Glen Rose, TX and the killer was a guy that Chris had been trying to help out with his PTSD. I am guessing that the guy was so screwed up he hated anybody who loved the military and the uniform like Chris did. It apparently happened early before anybody else was around and it took two hours to find Chris and his bud shot dead. I admired Chris when I saw him on TV talking about smacking Ventura, who had barged into a team wake for another bud who had been killed in Afghanistan. He seemed like the best the military has to offer and lived it in style and grace.

I was once a soldier. When I returned from my tour of duty, many in our country were not very friendly to Vietnam veterans. I went to college on the G.I. Bill (paid for about half of my education) and I took a fair amount of crap from my fellow students. Most were from the newly formed Young Democrats. The president of that group called me a baby killer not long after the Mi Lai incident came to light. ( I didn't serve in the Americal and never witnessed anything like that. My unit was very professional.) I was quite angry during those days and probably had a mild form of PTSD. One day, I saw my antagonist pulling into a parking place on campus. I ran over and beat the shit out of him as he tried to exit the vehicle. I still recall the rage I felt but I never even though about doing anything worse to him. I think you're right, we need ass hole control. Mike |

But yea, I think you summed up about 90% of the shootings in the USA - need for asshole control. People in this country need to stop solving their problems with guns - of course much of that violence is gang related.
