Is this going to become an oil thread?

My first instinct would be to say 15w40 HDEO, as it is what I run in the KLR.

Being in the south, I gave 15w50 M1 a try and it seems good. Applied with an eye dropper.

Look, we get it. You like Glocks and hate 1911. That's fine, just don't make up load of crap/lies and then give it weight by listing your credentials.

There are 10s of millions of 1911s out there and if they were as finicky as you make them out to be, they wouldn't still be on backorder after hitting the market over 100 years ago.

Is the 1911 the best gun? Of course not. I personally think most people who want to carry would be better served with something else, but not for any of the reasons you list.

how about some pictures. This has gotten stale. I'd really rather the political stuff over the Glock war.

We should get back to pictures but it does rather remind me of oil or Harley vs. anything else threads...in a rather amusing way mind, but still.

For many people, the iconic nature of the 1911 is part of it's appeal. No big deal.

For 1911 lovers:

Found this a couple of years ago. 1918 production and serviced at Agusta Arsenal between wars. Unfired since then. This was a DCM purchase, and I have the invoice showing it was sold for $17.00.

Wrong on that. My oldest and favorite pistol is a SA 1911 that I built into a show piece. All of the race guns I built are from 2011 frames.

The bluing is rubbed off the muzzle, I'm surprised it still works.

I use anti-seize compound on my Glock rails, it's what it came with from the factory.
